I remember once I was on a tour somewhere in Australia and the guide was an aboriginal man. Too many people had turned up to go on the tour. The man said "who goes home tomorrow, who needs to go on the tour today so they wont miss out?". Me and my family had got there late but we were going home tomorrow and we wanted to see the tour. Some of the people ahead of us in the queue allowed us to in front of them because we needed to go more or else we would miss out.
This is a real australian attitude. Allowing those in need to "jump the queue" because their needs are more important.
Never forget that "boat people" are people. Being from Brunswick I love multiculturalism, as it mean I get to enjoy delicious food and fantastic company.
This "queue" these nameless faceless "boat people" are jumping works like this; as long as you have enough money to be at the front YOU'RE IN! Thats not my view of how Australia is or was or even how it began, but it seems thats where we are going.

My Lucky Country
So anna, mum and I were once watching tv. On it a woman was talking about how young people shouldn't be able to be as involved in politics as they've never had a mortgage. Well this certainly did not go down well with us. This woman, about the same age as my mum, must have no idea what the future looks like for me and my generation, and not to mention our present. So I haven't got a mortgage, but i do face a large HEX debt, something whitlam allowed her to never have to worry about. I may not have a mortgage, this is true and I probably wont ever have one either as housing affordability for our generation is and will be horrendous. Yes I do not have a mortgage, she is right, therefore I have no pressing issues in my life? Youth problems, getting work, getting into and affording uni, affording a house... ect.
But really thats not what worries my generation. So I don't have a mortgage, but I will be living to see the effects of climate change, this woman will not. I will bring children into a world that deserves to be looked after, but under the rule of "those with mortgages" it is not.
My generation is part of a global community, this baby boomer "mortgage having" generation is not. These mortgage havers are too busy worry about there mortgages to worry about more pressing issues; poverty, 250 million people in slavery, the millions in war torn regions of the earth. This mortgage generation never grew up with the ability to see these people, so they don't. My generation can see these people.
I wont be able to vote this year. But hey, what would I know about anything? I dont have a MORTGAGE

Formal season is now over.
WHAT AN AWESOME 2 WEEKS
Year 12 is full of weird and wonderful adventures. Some of which are scary some of which are, not surprisingly, fun!
Lets just say I love formaling. Now let me explain...
The first two photos you can see are of my formal. The dress was AMAZING! Mum made it, with a bit of help from me. It (quite obviously) won most colourful. Angus and I also were awarded cutest couple along with my buddy liz and her date. All in all, an amazing night. Absolutely fabulous. I have discovered a love for dancing. I can tell you now that I plan to dance all night every night when I turn 18.
The other two photos were of Angus and I at my best buddies formal. Angus/ Angy escorted Jack (best friend since I was 3) and I, Helen/ Lionel escorted Alison (best friend since I was 2). As you can see we had a great time cross dressing and I took on some kid on the dance floor flouncing him out of the picture with my amazing MOOOOOVVVVVVESSSS.
OH what a year we are having so far!

Formal
2 formals coming up
First is my good buddies formal and angus and I are going dressed as our opposite genders, so far we have a dress for angus and I'm going to steal a jacket for my suit from my drama closet tomorrow.
For my own formal, which is coming up on tuesday next week, I have my mother working like a mule to make me an extravagant costume like dress (I'll post photos soon!)
I made some funky shoes with some cheap heals, superglue and sequins. ANNNNNND today I bought some of those COOL-AS feather eyelashes

Writing a story. Or trying to...
I'm writing a story. I've started a few things but they've been far too... "tomorrow when the war began", which I love but I cant just copy (sadly)
Any-who, there's one thing I really want to write but I'm not sure if it's the time to yet. I'll get back to you on that one.
Anyway heres one of my best poems, written at Angus's work (red rooster)
two fat men eating
At the end of the tub
of who knows what
he scraps with well rehearsed
well practiced
expertise
He puts it in his mouth
quickly
licking his fingers
disgusting, yes, but
precise also,
an action that has been
perfected, well rehearsed,
well practiced
The other speaks through
greasy lips, gutturally
from deep down in the huge
expanse of his
round center
Though its filtered through
a ruined throat,
one can just imagine pieces of lunch of
yesterday wedged in next to
afternoon tea, dinner and dessert
Dripping
waiting for room to clear
in the enormous insides
The first suck the extras
from between his teeth
he packs away his containers
with that same
well rehearsed, well practiced
Preciseness
The second rolls around on his seat
perhaps uncomfortable,
waiting for his unpredictable bowels
to move
He speaks again and the guttural
voice returns
now even more distorted by the recent
not quite ingestions
They irritate me
with the way the have become
like its natural
they get up to leave and as they stand
I feel as if I am the chairs they were
sitting on
released of a hugely unwanted weight

CLEAN(ish) ROOM, NEW (old) POEM
Mother and I have cleannnnnnneeeeeedddddddddd
so in celebration here is one of my poems:D
SLEEPY
Eyelids fall, weighted by sleepiness
as hard as we try
there is no way to stay awake
we trudge home and
heads fall, weighted by
sleepiness
as hard as we try
There is no way to stay awake
then we toss and turn
time passes, aggravated by
sleepiness
as hard as we try
try is no way to sleep
